About Bandon, Oregon

Bandon Oregon is located on Highway 101 about a 10 minute drive 8 miles south of Bandon Golf Villa. Bandon is a popular destination on Oregon’s southern coast at the mouth of the Coquille river. This small town is known for the famous world class Bandon Dunes Golf Resort with its five courses, its historic lighthouse, beautiful beaches and much more. Bandon has a population of slightly more than 3,000 and is considered the cranberry capital of Oregon.

BANDON CROSSING


The newest golf course along the Southern Oregon Coast, Bandon Crossings is just 5 miles south of Bandon on US Highway 101, at 87530 Dew Valley Lane. Bandon Crossings is a nice addition to the area’s golfing options and was nominated for Golf Magazine’s Best New Golf Courses of 2008. Bandon Crossings allows the use of golf carts.

BANDON PRESERVE


Bandon Preserve is a 13-hole par-3 course. All net profits from Bandon Preserve go directly to Wild Rivers Coast Alliance (WRCA), an organization that supports conservation, community and economy on the southern Oregon Coast. Bandon Preserve also protects and preserves the Silvery Phacelia, an endangered plant species whose habitat is threatened by non-native plants. By reclaiming the open sand along the Preserve, the Silvery Phacelia can once again flourish in the region. 



Restaurants


Tony’s Crab Shack, Bandon Fish Market and Bandon Bait  are all located at the port in Old Town Bandon on the boardwalk and offer excellent fish and chips, clam chowder and other fresh seafood with casual indoor and outdoor seating.

Bandon Brewing Company, located at the entrance to Old Town Bandon, has great craft beer, wood fired pizza and other pub food.

The Wheelhouse Restaurant and Crowsnest Lounge is located in Old Town Bandon overlooking the marina.  This long established restaurant offers a variety of seafood, steaks, pasta and locally sourced foods.

Edgewaters is on 1st Street just west of Old Town Bandon on the way to the Bandon South Jetty Park. Located at the mouth of the Coquille River, Edgewater’s has two floors of exceptional views and offers seafood, steaks and pasta.

Lord Bennett’s is located at 1695 Beach Loop Dr SW and has spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean from the restaurant and downstairs lounge. Fine dining includes seafood and steaks featuring regional ingredients and can be paired with wine from an excellent selection.

Face Rock Creamery is a cheddar cheese creamery and is located on Highway 101 across from Old Town Bandon. A variety of cheeses, free samples and a gift shop make this a popular stop for visitors.


Things to do in Bandon, Oregon


Old Town Bandon is located right off Highway 101 and offers shopping in a variety of small stores, a short boardwalk at the Port of Bandon piers, restaurants, the marina and fishing.

Coquille River Lighthouse and Bullard Beach State Park on the north side of the Coquille River mouth can be accessed through Bullard Beach State Park off Highway 101 just a few miles north of Bandon. Visit the lighthouse and enjoy the beaches.

South Jetty Beach and Park can be reached by taking 1st Street SW westerly from Old Town and then a short distance on Jetty Road SW.

Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint and Beach Loop Road are on highway 101 in Bandon, turn west on 11th Street SW and then south on Beach Loop Road for spectacular views of the ocean and access to uncrowded beaches.

West Coast Game Park Safari is a walk through safari park on Highway 101 about 7 miles south of Bandon. 


Beaches in Bandon, Oregon


Whiskey Run Beach – take Seven Devils Road north from Bandon Golf Villa about ¾ mile to Whiskey Run Land and then left to the beach. Great stretch of sand with no crowds and vehicles are allowed on the beach.

Seven Devils Wayside is north of Bandon Golf Villa about 5 miles on Seven Devils Road. 

Bullards Beach State Park is located off Highway 101 a few miles north of Bandon.

Bandon South Jetty County Park has a nice sandy beach and can be reached by going west from Old Town on 1st Street SW to Jetty Road SW.

Coquille Point is at the western end of 11th Street SW from Highway 101 in Bandon and is on a bluff with an expansive view of the ocean and stairs with 129 steps to the beach. 

Face Rock Scenic Viewpoint is a short distance south of Coquille Point on Beach Loop Rd with a great view of Face Rock and a trail to the beach.
