Bandon Dunes Golf Resort
Prepare yourself for one of the most unique, challenging and pleasurable golfing experiences in the world. Bandon Dunes offers unparalleled access to four world-class golf courses - Bandon Dunes (first course), Pacific Dunes, Bandon Trails and Old Macdonald. All four courses are ranked in the world's best lists. If you've never been to Bandon Dunes, it is time to come. If you have been to Bandon Dunes, it is time to come back!
Words can not describe the Bandon Dunes experience, but Stephen Goodwin gives you a good idea in his fascinating book, "Dream Golf" the story of the making of Bandon Dunes...
"On a remote stretch of the Pacific Coast, a golf course had appeared and not just an ordinary course, but a seaside course of great drama, purity and beauty. Early visitors came back with stars in their eyes, claiming to have discovered a true American links. This was the kind of golf of which people dreamed, golf that lifted the spirits and brought a renewal of gusto and energy. At the rim of the continent, against the colossal sweep of the Pacific Ocean, people seemed to re-discover the game, and to remember what made it so majestic and exhilarating."
World Class Fishing
Bandon is located where the Coquille River meets the Pacific Ocean and the local waters offer fantastic fishing. Southern Oregon Rivers are home to some of the world's largest and most delicious salmon. Good salmon fishing can be expected during nine months of the year. The average Oregon River salmon weighs anywhere from 20 to 40 pounds, which is more than enough to feed your foursome! Ocean charter boats are available in Bandon Harbor to catch Salmon, Halibut, Tuna and bottom fish, while outstanding Dungeness crabs can be landed from the docks or in the bay. We can help arrange fishing trips upon request. Native species include Spring Chinook Salmon, Summer Steelhead Trout, Fall King Salmon and Winter Steelhead Trout.
The Bandon area also offers great beachcombing, horseback riding and hiking. "The Mill" Casino is located in nearby Coos Bay, 30 minutes North of Bandon Dunes.
